Commercial shampoos strip your hair of natural oils . Hogwash Shampoo works together with your natural oils to clean the hair not strip it. It can take some getting used too, we admit, but if you hold on in there your patience can pay off, and you will not need to wash so frequently.
The natural oils attract dirt and wash it away. Simple. The solid bar is very different from the liquid shampoo so you may need to get used to it. I have some tips below.

How to transition and how to use, Wet hair, work up a foam with the shampoo bar and rub through hair. It wont make the lather of the usual liquid shampoo because it is not full of foaming agent SLS, which is a good thing. Rinse well. Solid shampoos need a bit more rinsing than liquid ones. Rinsing with cider vinager solution, (one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar per cup of warm water ) is a natural conditioner. This will help with detangling, and make your hair feel softer. You could apply a styling mousse after drying if you wish (a tip from my hairdresser there!). Don’t beat yourself up , use your conditioner if you wish, but try and wean yourself off as it simply coats your hair in plastic. It will make your hair feel squeaky which can be a bit strange after years of plastic coating. Hang on in there!
If you have very long hair rub the lather down the hair rather than pileing it all up on your scalp. Be gentle. Stay calm.
As you continue to use the solid shampoo your natural oils will start to work to give natural conditioning and shine. You will need to wash your hair less and have healthier hair. It can a few washes to get used too.
